Birdville ISD Places in Top 25 Districts for Prestigious H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards
  • Academics

Out of more than 1,200 districts across Texas, Birdville ISD has been selected as a semifinalist for the prestigious and highly competitive 2026 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards. This award’s program recognizes the district’s commitment to academic achievement, innovation, and student success.

This distinction places Birdville ISD among a select group of districts across Texas that have been honored for their dedication to providing high-quality educational opportunities and fostering a culture of excellence. BISD was one of only 25 districts to be named a semifinalist for this award, which is considered to be one of the most distinguished recognitions a district can receive.

“Being named a semifinalist for the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards is a powerful affirmation of the heart, dedication and unwavering commitment of our students, staff and community,” said Dr. Gayle Stinson, Superintendent of Schools. “We are deeply honored to receive this recognition and proud to be recognized among the top districts in the state. This award reflects not just what we achieve, but who we are – an organization united in doing what is best for every child, every day – something we will continue to strive for in our service to students and families in the Birdville ISD community.”

Created in 2002, the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards program is one of the largest and most respected education recognition programs in Texas. Each year, it honors outstanding school districts, teachers, principals, counselors, school board and early childhood centers that demonstrate exceptional commitment to student success and community impact.  The H-E-B Excellence in Education Award for school districts recognizes a commitment to student achievement through innovative programs, parent and community involvement, and professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators

Serving the communities of North Richland Hills, Haltom City, Richland Hills, Watauga, Fort Worth, Colleville and Hurst, BISD ensures that students are college, workplace and future ready. Through the Portrait of a Graduate, BISD focuses on student success by ensuring each student is an empowered learner, responsible citizen, global competitor and innovative entrepreneur.
